Worlds TT Selections

British Time Trial Champions Alex Dowsett, Wendy Houvenaghel and Sam Harrison have all been selected for next week’s World Championship time trials in Holland.

Sky’s Dowsett joins teammate Chris Froome in the Elite 45.7-kilometre event on September 18 while Houvenaghel and Emma Pooley ride the Elite women’s 24.1-kilometre title race the same day.

Pooley is also short-listed for this Sunday’s pro team time trial along with Sharon Laws and Elizabeth Armistead in the AA Drinks-Leontien squad.

Dowsett and Froome are also short-listed for Sky’s line up in the Team Time Trial along with Ian Stannard and Geraint Thomas. David Millar is among those named for Garmin-Sharp.

Other `home` riders on call for the Team Time Trial are Emma Trott (Dolmans- Boels) and Katie Colclough (Team Specialized).

Joe Perrett and Harrison compete in the Under-23 TT title race on September 17, over 36 kilometres.  Jon Dibben and Tao Geoghan Hart ride the Junior TT championship the same day over 26.6 kilometres while Elinor Barker is the lone GB woman in the Junior woman’s event, over 15.6 kilometres on September 18.

Last year’s GHS 10-mile champion Germain Burton is among those selected for the Junior World’s road race.
