RTTC-Rudy Project Rd 6

The RTTC-Rudy Project Time Trial Series heads South on Bank Holiday Monday for the New Forest CC promotion at Boldre, in the New Forest, Hampshire.

Matthew Bottrill and Jeff Jones (drag2zero) along with James Coleman (Witham Wheelers), Scott Walker (MG Décor), Dean Robson (Somerset RC) and Ben Hallam (Bespoke Cycling) head the senior entry. Along with the Espoirs, including Jack Green (VC St Raphael), they face 26.7 miles, over three laps.

The smallest women’s entry ever features Rebecca Slack (London Dynamo), Julia Shaw (drag2zero) and Donna Shaw (New Forest CC) and the Disabled category is represented by Tim Challinor (ClubPara `T`), Paralympic duty calling on some regulars.

Once again it is the veterans who provide the bulk of the field. Gary Dighton (Poole Wheelers), Blair Buss (Pedalsport CC), Geoff Platts (MG Décor), John Woodburn (VC Meudon), Steve Berry (Team Swift), Steve Smales (Boneshakers-Trek) and Andrew Perkins (Mid-Devon RC) are among the entry. They, like the women, race over 17.8 miles (two laps).

Event HQ is Boldre War Memorial Hall, Pilley Street, SO415QG. Star time is 8am. Most of the course is surrounded by New Forest land where ponies and cattle graze on the verges so if riding or watching take care.
