It may have been a bit wet in places but the weekend’s time trialling programme was successfully completed.
Michael Hutchinson (In Gear Quickvit Trainsharp RT) notched up two wins, Saturday’s Cambridge CC `10` and Sunday’s Sussex CA `25`, the County championship.
A 19-13 `10` put him 1-45 clear of runner up Jason Gurney (Team Milton Keyne) in the Cambridge event where Avril Swan (Born to Bike) returned a 22-43 to take the women’s prize, beating Sue Fenwick (Cult Racing) by 28 seconds.
The `Old Skool` version of the `10`fell to Ian Cammish (Planet X RT) fastest with a 22-54.
Hutchinson claimed the Sussex event with 51-12 which also won him the Boniface Cup. Southern regulars Steve Dennis (East Grinstead CC) and Peter Tadros (In Gear Quickvit Trainsharp RT) were second and third with 52-52 and 53-12 respectively.
Hutchinson, Tadros and team mates Dave Pollard and Jon Sharples took the County team award, for the Lee Memorial Cup.
Veteran Richard Bradley (Shorter Rochford RT) was another with a weekend double to his credit. On Saturday he won the Coventry CC `10` with a 20-51 and then followed that up with a good win in the Beacon RC 39-mile `Little Mountain` event ahead of Steve Berry (San Fairy Ann CC) and Dean Robson (Somerset RC). In the woman’s Coventry CC `10` Michelle King (Cult Racing) came out on top with 22-23 to beat Slack, 23-06, and Eyles (Beacon RC), 23-16. Cult Racing took the team prize.

Andy Bason (tt-weekly.com-Pedal Revolutions) was fastest in the Ogmore Valley Wheelers `25`. His 50-58 gave him a38 seconds win over Steve Gola (Sigma Sport) with Nino Piccoli (tt-weekly.com) a further 18 seconds in arrears.
In the overflow event Richard Harrison (Oxford City RC), 56-57, won ahead of Lynne Taylor (Born to Bike), 58-16.
Piccoli started the weekend with a win in the Kings Lynn CC `10`, a 20-24 giving him a 1-00 winning margin over Gary Rushmore of the promoting club.
Still at 10 miles, former Junior 10 and 25-mile champion Andrew Griffiths (Glendene-Biketrax CC) won the Eastern Counties CA event with 22-11 while Julius Jennings (Revo Racing) clock 21-17 to win the Camel Valley C&TC promotion.
Sunday’s Matlock CC `10` saw Julian Ramsbottom (I-Ride.co.uk) in winning form, a 21-57 giving him a 32 seconds advantage over second placed Marc Mallender (Rutland CC).
It could not have been a closer contest in the Tricycle Association (East) 25-mile event on Saturday. Andrew Nye (Ashford Wheelers) beat Andrew Perkin (Godric CC) by one second, 1-12-26 to 1-12-27.
